Erskine Theological Seminary had it,s real beginning as Clark Seminary when a Professor of Divinity was added to the college faculty in 1837. The present name was adopted in 1925 when the Seminary became the Theologi- cal unit of Erskine College. The Seminary now has full graduate school rating. The purpose of the Seminary is to provide training for those men who have been called to enter the Christian ministry, not only in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church but in other denominations as well.
