A Community Work Earns Cedit Seaholm High School offers an important oppor- tunity to its students in which they, by working in the community, can earn extra school credits. There is no limit to the types of jobs a student may perform to earn these credits. The jobs range from working with mentally handicapped children to working in a radio station. The students who are involved in this service get no money for their efforts, but, they do earn a Community Service credit. In order to receive a quarter credit, a student must work at least forty hours, and for one half credit the student must have a total of eighty hours working at whatever they are doing. By taking the opportunity to gain extra credit, students also gain experience that they may later use in their lives. 1.
