One activity which involves everyone is the preparation of Christmas baskets by each homeroom. Names of needy families are obtained through the Salva- tion Army. Food, clothing and gifts for the family are brought in by members of the homeroom. At an assembly the week before Christmas the decorated baskets are placed under a Christmas tree in the gym. The band, orchestra and choir perform songs of the season at the assembly. Speeches telling how Christmas is celebrated in their own country are given by the foreign exchange students. After the assembly students from each homeroom leave school to deliver the basket to the family. The appreciation shown by the Salvation Army and the families make this a worthwhile annual project of Seaholm.
