eniors gain recognition Academically, only the first semester affects the Seniors' future plans. However, it is during this last year that students gain recognition for scholarship and service. lt is the year in which the most coveted awards are presented and it is the time of graduation. Colleges and universities become of major importance as students make application, are interviewed, and receive accept- ance or reiection. The counselors arrange for scores of college representatives to speak to in- terested students. Michigan State University and the University of Michigan send representatives to interview each Seaholm applicant and to inform them of their admission status. Some are recognized as valedictorian, saluta- torian, National Merit semi-finalists, finalists, and Merit Scholars. This year the Piety Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution awarded two senior girls, Claudia Horn and .lan Poplack, with the Good Citizenship Award, the first dual winners in Seaholm's history. The most coveted award is the Marc Joslyn, presented to one senior girl and one senior boy at graduation for outstanding service to class and school.
