Here we are again, carrying' on with the Torch. XVe hope you will like our efforts. JOHN FEYAS. Editor-in-C hie f . of Our School View GU' AN BZIIIB Some have found it in a garden, some have fofund it on a stream, For the peace of true contentment is the depth of every dreamg Some have found it on the hilltops, and the search is ages old But no man has ever found it in a selfish strife for gold. Oh, 'tis plain what men are after as they scramble with the throng, 'Tis the hope of every toiler thru the weary days and long, 'Tis the hope of every sailor standing duty far at sea,' The peace which follows labor in the days that are to be. There are countless ways to win it, some have found it in a child, Some have come to it through sorrow, when their hearts were reconciled, But whichever way you wander and whichever choice you make You must leave a touch of beauty for the happiness you take. You will never rest contented if you save yourself alone, From your comrades, from your neighbors comes the peace that y 'u would own It is born of love an friendship, in a thousand ways 'tis told, But no man has ever found it in a selfish strife for gold. -SHIRLEY FLEMING. They bring me memories of the past, The days when I was young and gayg But Alas! I can only reminisce For my love has died away. Although I'm old, and feeble, and bent, And my once dark hair is gray, I see those days so vividly- They seem to have happened just y Each night we'd walk the sandy shores, Each night I'd hold her handg Each night I'd whisper tender words, Each night I'd be in fairy-land, The words we spoke were only heard esterday By the moon, the sea, the stars above. And every wave that rolled ashore Seemed to say, They are in love. Now as I tread the same old shores- Thc same old waves come up to me,- They know my plight, but they won't tell.
