Beilema, E, Schipper, G. Kaecker, R. Packer. BIRDIES This season Erie played twenty-five basketball games out of which nine were conference games. Joy of joys we won all the conference games and of course came out in first place. We started out the season by winning the first four games. During the season we accepted with good sportsmanship the losses due us, and yelled with all our might whenever we were on the winning side. We didn'tdo too well in the Fulton Tourney, and we placed third in the Two-Rivers Tournament. However we accepted our trophy with a smile remembering that we might have got fourth place. 56

CARDINALS The best game of the season was an exciting overtime with Orion in which we finally beat them, 60-58. Another close game was with Atkinson. Score: Atkinson -485 Erie-45. In the District Tournament we played Alleman. Although we were ahead of them in the third quarter the game ended by Alleman pulling in ahead of us 73 to 61. At the end of the season our record was seventeen wins and eight losses. A record we were all proud of. In all the games put together Junior Null was high point man with 412 points and Don Seger was second with 319 points. 57
