Each year brings a new and interesting group of Freshmen into high school to prove their worth to th e upper classmen. In '51 there were some grand kids as we all can see by their pictures Bill t. Seated Cleft to right!-Advisor, Miss Taylorg vice-president, Shepherd. Standing--Treasurer, Betty Suterg secretary, Janet Clark Freshman Class History With wide eye s and eager anticipation forty-nine members of the Freshman class enrolled in Erie High on September 5, 1950. After classes ha d started and we had become ac- quainted with our schoolmates, we began considering the ones who were well qualified to be our leaders. The final results were Bill Walzer, president: Bill Shep- herd, vice-presidentg Betty Suter, treasurerg and Janet Clark, secretary. We chose Miss Jane Taylor to super- vise our duties. On September 291Y6 g1 69ni6S came to school dressed as babies with rattles, diapers, and all. Thi s, of course, was the long awaited day of Initiation. After parading through town and also doing stunts for the ben- efit of the student body th e Sophomores sponsored a slhort party for the school in honor of the Meshman C 8.SSc To show our good sportsmanship we sponsored a Freshman Return Party in appreciation of Initiation. The football season brought on Homecoming, which meant we had to plan and prepare afloat to enter in the parade. We are very proud to have our class well represent- ed in the various activities. The girls are occupied with girls' chorus, G.A.A., and F.H.A., while the boys are busy with boys' chorus, I- .F'.A., football, and bas- ketball. With enthusiasm and active interest, the Class of SY looks forward to three more years of equally happy and exciting days.
