GIRLS' It seems only yesterday that we entered the annex-to us, the farthest outpost of civilization. We'll never forget our first day in gym as We came trotting on to the floor and stood gaping at our friends. We were taught the Big Apple in our dancing classes in '37, While today We have ad- vanced to the Conga At the annex We were introduced to the various squad ac- tivities, and to the Leaders, those rare specimens who directed them so ably. We remarked how difficult it was to perceive any green on a Leaders uniform, so well covered were they with decorations rang- ing from orange bars to blue major E's. As We became acquainted with the extra- curricular sport activities, a large number of girls turned out for hockey, a sport which was completely new to most of us. Almost immediately we began to shape a team that was to become one of the best that Erasmus Hall has ever produced. Because of our great interest in hockey we were rightfully called the Hhockey grade. Quite often the seniors referred to us as those dangerous freshies Whose record in mak- ing sticks had never been equalled. During our third and fifth terms we were captained by Edith Kayser, who relinquish- ed that title to Marilyn Murphy, school captain of hockey, in our final season. Since the beginning of our hockey careers, we had been building up our team in antie cipation of the time when it might capture the school crown. The final game of our last season came, and with it, disaster We lost the championship to the Iuniors by a score of l-O, the single tally being made in the last second of play. We had
