May you meet with even greater success in the continuation of your education in college and in Whatever work you under- take in the many years that lie ahead. From the quiet life of school you now go out into a world torn by war, obsessed by fears, and terrifyingly uncertain of the future. Man's inhurnanity to man makes countless thousands mourn, and no one can safely say what the morrow will bring forth. Might has crushed Right, and hysteria has drowned out the still small voice of conscience. It is easy to despair. Youth, however, will never despair. Fully aware of the evils abroad in the world today, our young people have the intelligence to realize that ulti- mately justice and decency will triumph. They have the spiritual courage to face the present and the future eagerly, willing and ready to play their proper part in making this world a fit place in which man can live and grow in freedom and security. i Your education should strengthen this spiritual courage, develop your in- tellect, stimulate the growth of those fine qualities of personal character with- out which our way of life is impossible. ln the difficult days ahead, God grant that you may all be found equal to the great demands that inevitably will be made upon you, and may success and happiness attend your efforts.
