This great Bicentennial Year for our country will carry very special memories for each and every Era fan. School spirit ran extremely high during football season-and for good reason. The Hornets made history for themselves. The junior high Hornets, a team comprised of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade players won district with an unblemished record in district competition. lt is hoped that this team will continue to progress as the players advance through Era School. For the very first time in Era football history there were enough high school athletes to afford a junior varsity team. These players probably worked harder than most, and they set the Era standard high for those to follow them. Their record was impressive. The Varsity Hornets displayed tremendous talent, drive, and sportsmanship which took them straight to the play- offs after an undefeated season. These fine athletes have made the name Hornets one that all will remember and respect. They have made them- selves a legend. The entire school displayed backing for all three teams, the drill team in new black and gold satin uniforms, the cheerleaders, the signs carried and worn by students before the big games, the untold number of spirit posters made by all classes, and of course, the deafen- ing pep rallies-all these wonderful exciting memories contribute greatly to 1975-76 THE YEAR OF THE HORNETS!
