The Hornets played a good game but did not have the material to cope with such a powerful team. The Hornets went down in defeat, 57 to 14. In the second game, the Hornets went to Alvord only to be defeated by a 40 to O score. The next Friday the Hornets met Boyd on the Era gridiron. For the third time in the season, the Hornets were defeated, this time by a 33 to 0 margin. The Hornets went to Sanger for the fourth game of the season. Sanger, by virtue of sheer power, came out of the game with a 49 to 0 win. Byrson made the long trip to Era to hand the Era Hornets a 57 to 7 shellacking. For the third and final time, the Hornets crashed into the scoring column. On the following Friday night, the Hornets traveled to Lewisville, only to receive their sixth loss in as many games. This was a rough game and several injuries were received by both teams. The im- portant one for Era was their fullback, who suffered a broken hand. The score for this game was 41 to O. The Hornets played'Bridgeport at Era and were defeated, 46 to 0. Powerful St. Jo walloped the Hornets, 52 to 0. Era's old rival, Valley View, came to Era and ran wild for a 60 to 0 win. For the whole season, the Hornets gained 1,482 yds. while the opposition gained 2,985.
