7 SEASON'S RECORD The Era Hornets of Era High School started their season at home taking a good 18 to 7 game from the heavier Collinsville eleven. It being the first game for both teams, several mistakes were made but the Hornets were in complete control all of the way. The second game was also played at home against the Alvord Bulldogs. Both teams showed strong ground games, but runs of 60, 58, and 30 yards f.or touchdowns made the score Z0 to 0 in Era's favor. The third game was at Pilot Point where the big and fast Pilot Point team completely swept the Hornets off their feet. The Bearkats won 33 to 0. The fourth game at Boyd was one of Era's best games. The score was 6 to 6, penetrations were the same at two each, but the Hornets led in first downs 15 to 9. The fifth game at home against Sanger was close all the way with Era on top with everything but the score. Sanger won 13 to 7. The sixth game at Bryson was won by Bryson 33 to 7. The Hornets started slow and made the Bryson boys a gift of Z7 points in the first half before the Hornets came back to score 7 points to 6 for the Bryson team in the last half. The seventh game with Lewisville at home was very close. The score at the half was 0 to 0, but three freak touchdowns gave the Farmers a 19 to 0 victory. The eighth game at Bridgeport was a run-away by the superior Bullies 47 to 0. The Bullies went to the Regional Championship game before meeting defeat. The ninth game at home with St. Jo was played in a fog and the Panthers walked off with a 48 to 0 victory. The last game was played at Valley View with the Eagles. The game was played in bitter cold, and the spirits of both ball clubs were chilled. The Eagles played a superior ball game and won 1-9 to 6, but the Hornet! were in the ball game until the- final whistle.
