B IR. GEORGE SULLIVAN Superintendent of Schools The number of diplomas a graduate has in his pocket lsn't half as important as the amount of determination he has in his head. Unless the graduate has used the past twelve years to develop those habits of work and lndustry, and those tralts of character which will clearly outline his responsibilities in the future, he will be lacking in this determination. Choose a career you love. Give it the belt there is ln you. Seize your op- portunities and be a responsible member of society. 3 Today the school child is being taught or placed in a learning situation from the moment he arrives at school until he leaves. No longer does he re- port. recite, study some on his own, recess in a wild tumult, recite again, and return home. Instead, he becomes an integral part of an organized sched- ule with planned experiences that offer desirable learning situations. This we have accepted as our philosophy of learning. IR . L, s. . . CLASS PROPHECY Time: September 10, 1968. Scene: Our old retired principal is on his honeymoon and is visiting his 58 gradu- ates--wherever they may be. . . Mr. and Mrs. Roger were surprised to find Vienna Crocker as the Head of the Football Coaching Department of U. C. L. A. What a shock! They found Jean Robert- son in San Quentin where she is serving a sentence for practicing medicine without a license. . . on horses yet! As a teacher in one of Arthur Murray studios, Gracie Bishop gave Mr. and Mrs. Roger a free lesson ln cha-cha-cha. Joan Cornish is now head of a Beauty Salon in New York City. Upon the honeymooners' arrival, she was setting Elvis Presley's hair. While touring the U. N. Building, our visitors discovered Louise Thibeault re- presenting the U. S. in the debates with Rus sla over the possession of the territories of the moon. According to the news, Phyllis Rogers has finally reached her goal. She won the race at Indianapolis Speedway and is now called Hot Rod Queen of 68 -- How about that! Mr. Roger just couldn't stay away from schools so he visited Sanborn Seminary's new principal, Miss Juanita Bowley, who had just fired her old teachers. NBC Bulletin is interrupting Science Fiction Theater to announce that the well-known scientist Paul E. Lavoie has just blown up Washington Observatory with his chemistry set. Horseback riding on the plains of Tucas, the Rogers found Lee Hutchinson and his twenty thousand heads of cattle looking for a ranch. Our couple missed Mason Mc- Phee who was too busy among 1700 used Bulcks picking parts, trying to make one. Arriving in Boston, our tired pair was greeted by Richard Sanborn now president of the Mighty Boston and Epping Railroad. Dave Montooth was seen flashing by in his big Cadillac still pretending he is Mr. Barrett's son. The 53 Dodge never caught up with him. ? Here comes the bride but a half hour late. Too bad Gigs Leddy hasn't suc- ceeded in her ambition. Our weary travelers just had to go to Miami to see Ann Nich- ols. She is doing quite well as the Head of a Lovelorn Council for emotional teen- agers. Lee Limperis ls Sons k Daughters are still in the turkey business. Of course, the Rogers will buy their first turkey from them. The bride and groom expected a. quiet afternoon at Frenchy's. They were astonished to find Plerrette unmarried with- out a job, just staying home to watch American Bandstand. To see Judy Lavoie, Mr. and Mrs. Roger went to the nearest hospital. Sure enough there she was running down the corridor yelling 1 finally got Lee's appendix. They quickly inquired about Lee's condition. Tired but happy, the honeymooners returned home and settled down to live hap- pily ever after.
