Commandmg 3 fg l l - nun... III I ICBI Commander George Milton Elliot was born in Gumbovo Delaware, on 29 July, 1937, and is a graduate of the U. S. Naval 'Academy class of 1959. He was commissioned Ensign in June 1959. He has served aboard USS MEREDITH QDD 890i as MPA and Engineering Officer, Executive Officer of the USS ALACRITY QMSO 5201, and Commanding Officer of the USS MIPMUC QATF 157y. He spent a year in Vietnam where he served as Commander Coastal Division Eleven and then as Commander Coastal Division Fifteen. Before coming aboard EPPERSON as Commanding Officer, he served as Executive Officer, USS ORLECK QDD 8861 Commander Elliot holds a B. S. degree in Electrical Engineer ing from Naval Post Graduate School and an Nl. S. degree in International Affairs from George Washington University. As a member of the V-1lV-12 program he was called to active duty and assigned to Tufts University, graduating from there in June 1945 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He was commissioned in November 1945 at the Columbia University Midshipman School. Executive Lieutenant Commander Robert A. Bob Persell was born 3 September 1939. An.aIumnus of the class of '61 of the University of Virginia, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from there, along with a Master of Science in international Affairs from George Washington University. He received his commission in June 1961 from NROTC. Lcdr. Persell has served as Main Battery Officer, Navigator, and ASW Officer of the USS HANK QDD 702i and as Weapons Officer aboard USS SARSFIELD QDD 8371 H is a graduate of the U. S Naval Destroyer School Nuclear Power School and the Naval War College Lcdr Persell last served on USS LONG BEACH QCGN 9y before he became Executive Officer of the EPPE He is now serving with the staff of Destroyer Flotilla Five Lcdr.
