In the beginning, the Episcopal School had vir- tually no equipment or athletic facilities. Im- aginative sporting was prevalent at Lovers Lane. While schooling in the gym, there were rockbeds for outdoor activities and van transportation to the Walnut Hill gym for indoor activities. The practic- ing of volleyball in the school parking lot was the epitome of our destitution in facilities and equip- ment. Yet, the Episcopal spirit prevailed in a kamikaze of hope that one day in the near future, there would be a winning Episcopal team that, yes, actually did practice on a native field or court.
