The 1984-85 Student Council had a productive year under the leadership of Mike Freed- man and sponsors Ioanne Iones and Tom Stearns. During the year the student council sold burritos once a week and sponsored a studentffaculty basketball game. Part of the money raised was used to put on a successful Christmas dance. The big project this year was the carnival. Members of the Student Council worked hard for several months in advance in preparation for the carnival. The carnival was an impressive success and great fun. East Dallas Community School was again chosen as the recipient of the funds raised by the car- nival. The council met every Wednesday morning to discuss upcoming events and activities. c

Richard Cowles - Artist The Eagle Edition has been very successful with the publication of its several papers. Already this year, has the paper proven to be quite popular - that is not only due to the fact that it is passed around during advisory. A series of articles ranging from sibling stories to book reviews to several student body surveys made the Eagle Edi- tion of interest to everyone. Not all of the paper is written by the students of second year journalism - first year journalism provides 144 all sorts of reporters the it they are interested in the investigated mat- terl, and administrative staff members such as our Librarian Mrs. Randall, may be the very authors of a particular section. Everyone can make suggestions and be sure that they will be taken into consideration. The Eagle Edition is still a young paper, and the termination of its second year has not gone by without complaints. One thing is sure: the journalism staff has, through the edition of our school's newspaper, presented the many aspects of our school's society. This has, in return, tempted more and more people to get involved in ex- tracurricular activities - be it stu- dent life or sports.
