Through Hard Times Bud Bard Work . . . Hard work is no stranger to the students here; papers, tests, sports, and clubs keep them busy. The hard work pays off, though. In 1987, 99 percent of the seniors went to 47 different colleges. Eighty-five percent went to the college of their first choice. To help the student do well on standardized achievement tests. Episcopal provides PS AT and SAT ACT preparation classes. As of November, average SAT scores for the Class of 1988 were 490 V and 522 M. The average ACT score was 23.6. College adviser Mr. Hallman says that the scores are expected to go up in December and January. We recognize the hard work of the athletic teams, also. In crosscountry, both the girls' teams and the boys teams captured the state title. The volleyball team won district and went on to the state tournament, where they reach the semifinals. Much hard work and dedication was invested in the drama productions at EHS. This falls' plays included Steamboatin' and Pillow Talk. With the help of Mrs. Bonner, Mr. Tibergh-ein, and the thespians, both plays were successful performances. The workload, which includes seven hours of classes and over two hours of homework for many, can often make going to Episcopal seem like hard times. The hard times end when the hard work pays off. A Senior Jim Douglas takes a well deserved rest before going back out into the game.
