The weekend of October 9 and 10 was filled with spirit, curiosity, determination, and excitement. As the date approached, spirit signs, made by each grade and the cheerleaders, decorated the campus urging the Knights to Crash the Crusaders and proclaiming that Knight's Spirit Never Dies. Spirit was certainly strong that night, and the Knights did indeed Crush the Crusaders from Christian Life Academy with a score of thirteen to zero. Homecoming festivities began with a junior breakfast at Kim Buhler's house and a senior breakfast at Heidi Wood's. A special schedule was used to accommodate the 2:00 PM pep rally, and the gym flooded with excited students, parents, and alumni. At the far side of the gym, the 1987 Homecoming Court which included freshmen Julie Hiatt and Ashley Sexton; sophomores Claire Morris and Amy Quaid; juniors Kim Buhler and Laura Carpenter; and seniors Amanda Grimsley, Natalie Miller, and Ali Quaid sait with their chosen escorts. Father Hancock crowned the 1987 student-elected Homecoming Queen Miss Ali Quaid. Jim Douglas appears frustrated at a play, however; the Knights emerged victorious with a score of 13 to 0. Jennifer D’Armond holds up a sign proclaiming the senior’s superiority. This sign received the most attention with dissatisfaction from the underclassmen and pride on the senior's part M D m t t p m 4 i n 9 t 9 $ 7
