0 Big Knights! Knights Take District, Beach Semi-finals Dt State The Knights, who took district with a record of 10-0, ended their outstanding season with an impressive overall record of 30-6. the finals of the Tara tournament a few weeks later. The biggest tournament of the season was the Andrew Jack-son tournament at Tulane. The Knights won their pool, but lost to another major rival, Newman of New Orleans, in the quarter-finals. Success didn't come easy, though. The varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen teams alike endured hours of hard work and practice. Many team members attended various volleyball camps over the summer, but the actual work as a team began in early August under the direction of varsity coach Beverly 1 iise. All the hard work paid off, as everyone discovered at the annual EHS Invitational Tournament. There, the Knights won their pool to advance to the semi-finals. After defeating St. Martins of New Orleans and Episcopal of Aca-diana, they advanced to the finals. The Knights were forced to settle for second place when they finally were defeated by the St. Joseph Red Stickers. At the State Tournament, the volleyball team enjoyed several victories before finally losing to Vanderbilt Catholic-in the semi-finals. Several of our players received special recognition at the Tournament. Named to the All District Team were: Stacey Wimp, 1st team MVP; Fae Foster, 1st team; Meredith Cronan and Nancy Garrett, 2nd team; and Janie Ma-cLauchlan, Honorable Mention.
