Throughout the school year, members are asked to prepare selected student works for exhibition. Near the end of the year, these members will plan and produce the EHS Annual Student Exhibit. Some other activities include volunteer art work, field trips, and meeting visiting artists from the Baton Rouge area. The EHS Band com- bines appreciation for fine music with teamwork. In addition to other performances, the Band played at the Homecoming football game and at their Christmas Concert. The EHS Choir's goal is to encourage student participation in choral music. Besides the successful Christmas musical Scrooge, the Choir made several chapel appearances and participated in a retreat at Camp Hardtner. Paige Hendry. Michael Howes. Beta Club, National Honor Society Set High Standards The Beta Club is a leadership-service organization for students with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The Beta Club's purpose is to develop leadership, character and academics. The Junior Beta Club helped to feed needy families for Thanksgiving, while the Senior Beta Club sponsored the Toys for lots drive, the Valentine Carnation sale. Teacher Appreciation Day, and participated in the State Beta Convention, in which the members took part in various academic competitions. The National Honor Society recognizes students who are especially outstanding in academics, leadership, character and service. Some of this year’s activities were contributing to the Knight's Herald, discussing and evaluating the school curriculum, and brightening the lives of some abused children by bringing them out to see the EHS production of Scrooge and organizing a cast party for them after the show.
