Thespians, Debate Team Shoot for Excellence The International Thespian Society is an organization composed of students who are dedicated to excellence in dramatic endeavors. Apprentices attain Thespianhood by working many hours on the school productions in such areas as acting, lighting, scenery, make-up, costumes, props, and publicity. Both the production of Arsenic and Old Lace and the ISAS Arts Festival trip to Tulsa were resounding successes. This year’s Debate team, which is coached by Mrs. Bonner, spent many hours and a lot of energy to do the extensive research and preparation for this year’s season. The members attended a debate convention in Lafayette and participated in a tournament at LSU this fall. Thespians: (Front Row) Britton Mangham. Kristcc Oldham, Carrie Wilder. N.J.R.O.T.C. Prepares Cadets for the Future The Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps, staffed at EHS by Captain Emil Saroch and Master Chief Frank Thompson, is an organization whose purpose is to give young men and women an opportunity to exercise leadership, an opportunity to become better and more knowledgeable citizens, and to give the students a basic understanding of our armed forces and their purpose. Cadets may join the drill team, color guard, or rifle team in order to compete with other NJROTC units in the area. Annual awards are made at a parade where patriotic and civic associations award medals to outstanding cadets. An annual orientation trip is made to Florida or California where cadets watch demonstrations and visit warships and aircraft squadrons, as well as make recreational visits to Disney World and Universal Studios.
