A Symbol of Excellence Student Council and Patmos Promote Leadership, Service The Student Council, a working, productive democratic organization, is designed to communicate the wishes of the student body to the administration. In addition to its traditional activities such as sponsoring the annual Homecoming dance, this year the Student Council promoted a campus cleanliness program, sold t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, and visors bearing the HI IS logo — and even made possible the addition of the new white sweatshirt in addition to the traditional navy sweatshirt. The Patmos Society is a service organization designed to promote the spiritual growth of the LI IS community. As well as planning special chapel services and providing lay readers, Patmos members participated in the World Hunger Project, Christmas caroling, the Clown Ministry Program, and the Great Paper Airplane Race.
