 Another Year, Another Class Spring rounded the corner, and May 16th rapidly approached. Seniors grew antsy. Teachers and administrators grew uptight. Graduation ended the seniors’ high school career, a joyous but sentimental occasion. The commencement ceremony was both beautiful and meaningful. The five valedictorians, Mary Anepohl, Julie Belcove, Anne Harvey, Michelle Hu, and Cathy Shubkin, composed a poem as a tribute to the Class of ’85 and to Episcopal High School. During the presentation of diplomas, the graduating seniors released some of their tension and anxiety. As the new alumni walked out of the chapel, they realized they would probably never again be together as a class, but they would always be bonded to every other member of the Class of ’85. Alison Cohn receives the Ralph K. Webster Award. This honor is presented each year to the senior who best exemplifies the ideal Episcopal graduate. Mary Falgout and John Giddcns enjoy refreshments at the reception Chris Atkinson gladly accepts his Episcopal following the graduation ceremony. Construction of the new patio pro- diploma. 34 vided new' space and new atmosphere for this event traditionally held in the cafeteria.

Author Visits Campus Most everyone has, at one time or another, written a poem, short story, or essay not fora class, but for himself. This March, Episcopal students had the opportunity to have a professional writer evaluate their work. TROUBADOUR, Episcopal’s new literary journal, invited award-winning author Richard Peck to critique students’ work and to conduct a writing workshop. He gave honest and encouraging criticism and a humorous and interesting speech. Peck shared his ideas, and students shared their compositions. Receiving praise from such a respected author was inspirational to many El IS aspiring writers. Lauren Moonan, Angel French, and Julie Belcove accept advice from author Richard Peck. Peck encouraged all the students to pursue thef writing. Phoioby M. Stuckey. 36 The Faculty Advisor Program was off to a good start this year. Concerned teachers like Mr. Robinson took care to set up meeting times to talk wit} their advisees.
