This Wine May Be Hazardous to Your Health A play of murder, love, and mistaken and confused identity came to Episcopal in March. Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesserling revolves around the antics of two eccentric, elderly sisters who poison lonely old men with arsenic-laced elderberry wine. The play’s hilarity multiplies as one nephew discovers a body, another nephew thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt, and the last nephew, an escaped criminal, shows up looking like Frankenstein and toting around a dead body. Other characters include comic cops, a German plastic surgeon, and potential poison victims. The cast of Arsenic and Old Lace w as small compared to past productions, but this provided for a unique camaraderie among the members. Rehearsals were occasionally long and tiring, yet the laughter and applause of the audience drow ned out any moans and groans. Policemen Missy Harris and Britton Manghum receive their orders from Kyle Jackson, who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt. Julie Belcove lovingly observes her demented nephew. PhoiobyT. Latham. 26
