The Ones To Watch Boys' Basketball Team Vies for Playoff Spot The 1983-84 Boys' Basketball Team has proven to be one of the most competitive teams in the school's history. As the yearbook goes to press in late January, the Knights are battling for a playoff berth — for only their second time ever. Tied for second place in District 9-AA, the Knights have shown continued improvement throughout the season. For the second year in a row, the Knights are undefeated at home in district play. Episcopal basketball has continued to provide our school with a proud winning tradition and some of the best basketball in the state. Standing Above The Rest Seniors Set Example For Winning Pace The key to the Knights' success is not hard to find. An outstanding group of seniors have given the Knights great leadership both on and off the court. Mark Elliott surely will end the season as one of the greatest players ever to wear the Blue and Gold. Each time he takes to the court, he either sets a new record or breaks one of his own existing records. He leads our team with a 23.5 points per game average. Ritch Tolbert, Robert Whittington and Ty McMains all have played important roles in the success of the Knights this season. This is truly a great senior group. Other varsity team members who have played key roles in the season are juniors Neil Abramson, Sam Field, Tom D'Armond, Camp Kaufman, Brian Ainsworth, Tom Cocke and Jody Weldon. The following boys complete the varsity squad: Erich Sternberg, Rob Sindelar, Jeff Poche, Barry Taylor, Will Latham and Sherman Jacobsen. Ritch Tolbert ( 22)takeshisshot while Ty McMains ( 20).
