100 This Is No Place For The Inexperienced N.J.R.O.T.C. Members Prepare For Their Future Cadets were promoted to officer status in the Fall Commissioning ceremony. Photo by . Hill. The Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps promotes leadership and patriotism at Episcopal High School. In addition to attending the one-semester per year classes, involved students may join the color guard, drill team, or rifle team, all of which have done well at various state meets. Our NJROTC unit has added a flag ceremony to its traditional activities: the fall commissioning ceremony, in which seniors, juniors, and some sophomores are commissioned as officers; the spring inspection, in which the performance of the Episcopal NJROTC unit is assessed; the spring dance, this year a masquerade twerp ' dance; and a trip to the naval base in CorpusChristi, Florida. To support the unit, NJROTC cadets sell license plates and candy bars. The EHS battalion is staffed by Captain Emil Saroch and Master Chief Frank Thompson. SENIOR MEMBERS - Front Row Brian Huckeba. Learning Is Part of The Fun International Club, Science Club National Honor Society Set High Standards For the scientifically minded student, the EHS Science Club is the perfect outlet. Members not only put the annual Science Fair on line, but also they take diverse field trips, including a visit'to the LSU Medical School in New Orleans and the School of Veterinary Medicine On the other hand, the International Club provides a refreshing alternative for those whose interests lean more toward the humanities. Although notorious for sampling the many delights of area restaurants, this is a philanthropic club that supports two children — a girl in Mexico and a bov in Afnca — through the Christian Children's Fund. The NationalHonorSociety recognizes students who are especially outstanding in academics, leadership, character and service Members strive to showcase and foster the scholarly life of our school community.
