t fc v 4721 ' a Judo Club ld fd Q' X . . . . Q MQ ' My Thejudo Club is lust over a year old and has grown greatly. The clubls instructor is Mr. if George Feyerabend, who holds a 2nd degree Black Belt in judo. The clubls advisor is Mr. 1 I J ' Camp. When the club started, only a handful of people were interested, but now over 26 , members enjoy working out every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. We have four girls ' A that fight just as hard as any boy in the club, which shows girls can do it too. The club is . , K g zzg S oepn to both boys and girls of any age. Though we work hard to better our skills and ' understanding of judo, we also try to relax and have fun. We try to have parties after local iiii tournaments, demonstrations, and sometimes before practice. Many of the members are new All V ' to the club, but by their hard and serious practice I foresee that judo will see many future .F . champions from the mats of E.H.S. Already two members this year have placed in National 1 91 fi iilil competition, Brent Robbins placed 5rd in the 205 lb. young men's division and Tom H V W , Senyard placed 2nd in the 16 year old open division at the National X YMCA Open Tournament. The club is looking forward to hosting the Southern AAU Tournament and hopes to have a banquet at the end of the year. judo is a growing sport and defense in the world, A,'e .I nation, and great institutions such as Episcopal High School. We N if q v? 2- hope our club membership will grow, so that it can teach judo and ' t 'V 'HW also help onels physical and spiritual strength come together.
