Key Club The Key Club is an international organization patterned after and sponsored by Kiwanis International. Our club has conducted an active program of serving projects for school and city. This year the club has been in charge of chapel maintenance, concession stands and gate at both football and basketball games, and has been involved in campus beautification. ln city service, we have worked for the Disabled Vets and Heart Fund and played in the Muscular Dystrophy Football Marathon at L.S.U. Our club is composed of students interested in serving others, are able to give their time, and are responsible workers. This club looks forward to more and better projects each year. ,ya RF11 SWEETHEARTS: Terry Schwing, Sally Stafford, Clino Mongeau, Martha Otto, Nancy Babers. EHS Players ' 4, iii fl? ' ' H 1 ' H4 V I ,X,,. . v,,saMM,,.,.,,ga,,.,,,,,..,z All the world's a stage And all the men and women merely players. As You Like It fAct II, Sc. 7, Line 1395 The stage at Episcopal is growing - summer workshop produced PENELOPE, PRIDE, OF THE PICKLE FACTORY for the Baton Rouge Community Arts Festival and the newly named Episcopal Players then repeated their performance for the opening of school. Halloween was the occasion for a Wear-A-Costume Day to raise money for the Players' productions. Many hours of rehearsing saw the presentation of a night of one-acts, THE WIDOW and A THING OF BEAUTY and a rare treat was provided by playwright Maurice Berger who wrote A THING OF BEAUTY when he met with the players to discuss his play and characters with the cast. Plans for the spring include a workshop production by the Speech class and hopefully a full-length play. The Players are attempting to bring the stages of the world to Episcopal High and to introduce all who are interested to our world - the stage. 143

The Demoiselles endeavored to accomplish two mayor obyec- tives during the school year, service to our school and service to our community. For the school, we took on responsibilities such as hostessing parent's night in Sept., helping the Mother's Guild by serving at the November Supper Auction, and sponsoring a buffet meal for the coaches and referees at the annual invitational basketball tournament in December. Our fund-raising tasks con- sisted of a candied apple-popcorn ball sale in the fall, a spring fashion show, and a bake sale. On Dec. 21, our organization boxed Christmas toys for the Volunteers of America and on Dec. 23, delivered them to needy families. We hope through our pro- jects we have shown an interest to those living around us as well as to our own school. Our contribution from fund-raising pro- jects was given to Father Webster for special school projects, ijomf Qtffbuislt
