eibecbca fion All were held in a cloak of awed silence as the flag was raised to the strains of the Star Spangled Ban- ner, and the Kiwanis Field was a reality. A dream of men of vision and foresight. A dream come true. We are dedicating this annual in sincere gratitude to the men who are responsible for the fulfillment of what was thought to be a goal far beyond the grasp of E. H. S. scholars, a hope above realization, They are men ofpatience, fortitude, generosity, and a love for Ephrata High, resulting ina stronghold in the future. Progress was stopped on the field because of many difficulties. There were times when we were un- certain of ever getting a field. But they did not give up. Supplies finally arrived, the field was engulfed in a flood of light at the first gameg and the hopes, dreams, and hard work of men of virtue was realized. A momentous occasion, the ded- ication ofthe field, was a happy end- ing to a wonderful adventure. That is why we hereby dedicate this book to the progressive spirit of the men behind the field.
