rincqaafzi eridage Training for good citizenship is the ultimate goal of all your work in high school. The good citizen not only knows and observes the laws of his nation, state and community but is also trained in certain skills whereby he may earn his living and so contrib- ute to the wealth and advancement of his nation, state or community. Youth today is faced with the still greater problem of world citizenship, training for which involves an understanding of the customs, problems and hopes of other nations. With this understanding of other nations and with a sense of world citizenship may come the long-hoped-for World Peace. It is my sincere hope that the training you have received at Ephrata High School in the past year will contribute materially toward the attainment of that goal of good work citizenship of each and every one of you. Mr. Warner uiaerinfenclenf 3 efidage Lucky people! Yes, I honestly believe that we should consider ourselves lucky folks to be living in Ephrata and the Columbia Basin during this develop- ment period. The 1948-49 school year has been a grand one but the coming year can and will be a better one if you will but make it so. lwiuch will depend upon your attitude, interest and effort. Learning, activity, progress and individual development are open to you. Why not make the most of your opportunity, not only for your own personal gain but to make your school and your community the best yet. 6 Mr. Moodhe
