We thought it was very nice of them, and we enjoyed it very much. The initi- ation, sponsored by the Sophomores was quite comical. In October they gave us a Welcome Dance and then in November we gave .them a return dance. Our carnival candidate was Janice Wortman. We all agree she made a very nice princess though we would have liked to have seen her as queen. The Frosh girls gave a tea for the faculty, December 15, 1953, and it was very suc- cessful. The Freshman class was very active during the year, as we pre- sented various assemblies, attended rolling skating parties,. and had a very enjoyable year. The officers for the year were: Buford Rice, Tom Jones . . . President . . . . Pegf Bittleston Floyd Gibson .... . Vice President . . . Bill Smart Barbara Prather . . . Secretary . . . We are proud of the fact that some have won their service awards. The boys of our class were very active in Ski team, Basketball Football, and Baseball. Several girls and boys turned out for Tennis as well. We .are looking forward to next year when we will be high and mightily Sopho- mores. 17
