F.H.A. The F.H.A. year started off with the installation of officers leaving the initiation of the new later in the year. members until One of the high lights of the F.H.A. year was the annual Mother-Daughter Banquet, held December 9, at the gigh school. Seventy mothers, daughters, and teachers attended the dinner. Entertainment was provided by some of the girls. Marge Packwood was chosen to represent our school in the district Cherry Pie Baking Contest. Marg took first place honors along with the Soap Lake contestant. Both girls received recognition for their entries in the state contest in Seattle. lst. FIFIAQ The Future Farmers of 1952-53 under Mr. Denham's wise guidance opened their fall activities with entrances in the Chelan and Waterville Fairs. A number of the boys received' ribbons for their displays. The Club purchased chickens for the poultry project but unfortunately coccidiosis ruined the flock. The treasury has mounted to near the 3200. mark through card sales. The money remaining from the yea s expenditures has been placed in the Wbuy a truckn fund. 0fficer's for the year were as follows: lst. GNEIT Y A s r SPANISH CLUB Under Miss Tenneyvs sponsorship the S,anish Club this year has formed a new friendship with the Nagoles Bible Institute, a school for Mexican students of high school age. The school is located in Nagoles Arizona--the borcer town between Arizona and Mexico. For Christmas the Club sent them a fruit cake, candy, nuts and popcorn ballsg and received from them some rich Mexican candy. The Annual Spanish Club Dinner was held January 29 in the High School. After the dinner the Club president gave the Hwelcomeu fol- lowed by several music numbers in Spanish. The program ended with a talk by Mr. Morgan who snowed a sampling of the Mexican handicraft. Besides these activities the virls boumht and hemmed the material for the new cyclorama. The Annual Serine Luncheon climaxed the years busy nrocram under Mrs. Kinzel's enthusiastic leadership.
