Text from Pages 1 - 132 of the 1960 volume:

The Vespa Redding, California P When the first bus rolled up on Septem- ber 9, it signaled the return of activity to En- terprise High. As the halls buzzed again, var- ious opening day committees hurried around to direct the new students and greet the re- turning ones. For the freshmen and transfer students the welcoming committee was avail- able, along with the “Buzzy Says” brochure, prepared during the summer, which helped to lessen the shock of newness. - 2 - - 4 - Each year brings many moments of varied pleasures and rewards-the fun of being with friends, the excitement of sports events, the challenges of school government, and, yes, the achievements in the class- rooms. Although we can’t por- tray all phrases of the school program for you, we hope we have captured enough of life at Enterprise to make this year a memorable one. The 1959 Vespa Staff Judy Hamon Margaret Keid Pat Leach Caroline Anderson Wendy Truett Margaret Reid Mary Fitzpatrick Pat I-each Judy Hamon Charles Blair Marie Beaman - 5 - Dedication The spirit of helpfulness and cooperation that has characterized Enterprise High since its inception is best exemplified by Mr. John Michael. In addition to acting as plant super- visor of the show place school of Northern California, Mr. Michael has given generously of his time whenever assistance was needed. To him, we gratefully dedicate this book. - 6 - PRINCIPAL Charles Denny School and Student Body leaders SUPERINTENDENT Mr. Jackson Price Standing: B. Hart, M. Beaman. K. Lowe, L. Shive, K. Against Red Bluff and Weed the Hornets, although frequent- ly outplaying the opponents, lost by narrow margins. From the third game on, however, the Hornets rushed past all opponents except Orland and climaxed the season with a crushing defeat of the cross town rival, Shasta High.
