At the time the pictures were sent to the publishing firm, the teams had just begun the initial stages of training in preparation for confer- ence battles. After viewing the candidates in their first few days of practice, Coach Phillips of the baseball team and Coach Guerra of the track squads were highly optimistic over the prospects.
