STAFF As school librarian, Mrs. Williamson supervises the lending of books from the high school lib- rary with the aid of student librarians. Mrs. Williamson is a co-sponsor of the ENCOALA staff. MR. ROBERT PAUL MRS. LOUISE WILLIAMSON English, Library A. B. Bessie Tift This Senior I English class enjoyed acting out tlie play, The Trysting Place.” Junior High, Driver's Education B.S. Troy M.A. University of Alabama Junior High geography classes studied in- dividual maps of Europe in an effort to learn more about the world and its people. These students who enrolled in driver's training received valuable and practical instruction in safe driving. MISS LEONIDAS JONES Civics, Commercial Subjects B.S. University of The Lo-Z Club sold football programs at the home football games. Miss Jones sponsored this club.

STAFF Much appreciated by Senior students was the advice Mrs. Ellis so freely gave in helping with plans for college. The chemistry lab afforded many interesting experiences on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week. Such was the testing of com- pounds for acid content. MRS. CAROLYN ELLIS Chemistry, Science A. B. Huntingdon sponsor of these parties. a sport enjoyed thoroughly by the girls' physical education classes was basketball. When days be- gan to grow cooler, this made a pleasant change from the outdoor sports. As one of their projects in the study of ancient history, this Junior I class made booklets on famous Greeks.

STAFF In solid geometry, curious geometrical structures were dissected as the students learned to compute their areas and volumes. MRS. THELMA MARTIN Many hours of after school drill went into the preparation for halftime shows at ten football games. This Mexican hat for- mation was a favorite of the fans. Mathematics, Physics B.S. Auburn On Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week physics students conducted lab. This is the apparatus used by the students in distilling water. MR. ERNEST THREADGILL Band Director B.S. Troy As concert season drew near, melodious strains of concert music floated from the band room. MRS. ROBERTA TOMBERLIN English B.S., M.A. University of Alabama As a project of her Senior English class, Mrs. Tomberlin directed an American Education Week skit over radio station WIRB. Junior and Senior students checked out books for reports from the library in Mrs. Tomberlin's room.
