MR R. L. BATES Batchelor of Science Master of Science Birmingham Southern University of Alabama This Encoala has been produced by the thought, study, and work of a large group of students guided by its faculty advisors. May the experiences of such production serve as an incentive for continued thought and study. The book depicts the personalities and activities of the Coffee County High School for 1952-53. It is my sincere wish that such a record will bring back many fond memories to its readers in the years to come, and that these memories will help to enrich the lives of those who turn its pages. Study without thought is vain; thought without study is dangerous. ” Looked at from a distance, he appears stern; when approached, he is mild; when he is heard to speak, his language is firm and decided.

MRS. JOSEPHINE C. ARMOR Batchelor of Science State Teachers College, Troy Mrs. Josephine C. Armor has been assistant principal of the Enterprise Junior High School for nine years. During this time she has won the respect and admiration of the entire student body. The phase of work for which stud- ents especially remember Mrs. Armor, is her untiring effort in preparing them for the transition from junior high to senior high school. In addition to her school work, Mrs. Armor is active in civic and church work. Because of her loyalty and untiring efforts, we dedicate the 1953 edition of the Encoala to Mrs. Josephine C. Armor. Void of hatred and greed, what but good work does she do? Be tireless of spirit and faithful at work Assistant Principal of Enterprise Junior High School since 1944.
