SI-lELL'S THIRD GRADE We are a class well-balanced in number. There are varied interests and talents that each pursue, but together we go in polishing the skills of the three R's . Highlights of the year outside the classroom were a visit to Cheeckwood where Mr. Scott lectured on local tree leaves, their shapes, sizes, color and other means of iden- tification. The Boys and Girls Book Fair sponsored by the Baptist Book Store brought to Nashville such well-known names as Marguerite De Angela and Louis Slabadkin. There was the traditional year end trip to Mammoth Cave. Spring never fails to bring field day, poetry contest, Valentines Day Party and a glorious two-week holiday. Christmas Sing will always remind us of snowflakes and the snowman. 49
