MISS CAROLYN'S SECOND GRADE In September we all entered second grade with enthusiasm and eagerness for good things to come. As we look back on our second grade school year, we re- live many interesting things. We have a TV set that gives forth knowledge and information on science and social study programs. We had a series of lessons on water and were fortimate to have an important classroom visitor to tell us more. The man in the know is Mr. Finley Harbison with the Metropolitan Water Department. This must be our lucky year. Our luck continued with men in the know. Mr. Joe Gilmore was a classroom visitor and had much to tell us about the post office and its services. To hear ourselves as others hear us--we have enjoyed our own tape recorder. We have read poems, stories and special parts to replay and enjoy. We also had a very special surprise for mom and dad on Parents' Night. Though we were not present, our voices were heard with great delight. At the present time we are in the midst of Christmas activities. We are harboring a secret that will be a Christmas surprise for mother and dad. We are preparing for the Christmas Sing and a nice vacation. Many things will happen in the future--class trips, important visitors and much to see and do. 43
