HORTON 'S KINDERGARTEN Once upon a time, well, 'twas September in fact, We all set out for kindergarten, to Ensworth to be exact We ventured forth together, in number twenty-three, To find what lay before us, to touch, to hear, to see. We were thrilled by what we found, and to enumerate: Reading goes from left to right and 4 and 4 are 8. There were sandtable villages and castles of blocks, Circus murals, birds' nests and, yes! Chicken Pox! ! Loose teeth and field trips and Show and Tell time. We shared together, played together and sang songs in rhyme. We've found a joy in learning and now, as kindergarten veterans, We look forward to first grade days as perhaps even BETTER ones! 35
