THE JACKET 1982 ENSLEY HIGH SCHOOL Birmingham, Alabama © 1981 BILL BARROW Time passes ever so quickly, leaving us with many nostalgic memories of a year gone by. We, the '82 JACKET staff, have attempted to grasp these fleeting moments in this edition of the 1982 Ensley High School JACKET. The emotions of happiness, fear, pain, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat have all been captured through the eye of the all-seeing camera. We face a future which is filled with possibility and potential for greatness. While striving to conquer the world ahead, we should pause to remember that we all have a special purpose for being At this Place in time. 4 5 7 8 TABLE OF CONTENTS Theme Page 2 Administration Page 20 Seniors Page 26 Juniors Page 52 Sophomores Page 62 Freshmen Page 72 Sports Page 82 Activities Page 122 Organizations Page 182 Senior Statistics Page 200 Advertisements Page 210 Closing Page 238 FACULTY 18 19 Principal of Ensley High Mr. Larry Moran Much hard work and time has gone into the preparation of the 1982 Jacket. On behalf of the faculty and students I extend to the Jacket staff a thank you” for a task well done. — Larry Moran 20 In Memory This year Ensley High School lost one of our most dedicated teachers, Mrs. Catherine Beaudry. Mrs. Beaudry substituted for us and touched us all with her warm and friendly personality. Mrs. Beaudry will be missed by the students and the faculty of Ensley but memories of her warmth, concern, and dedication will linger for many years to come. 21 Mr. Ashford History Mr. Ballew English Mr. Bandy Upholstery Mr. Brown Music Mrs. Crew Asst. Alan had to keep his hands on a Toyota Truck for 30 hours, having only a 5 minute break every hour and 10 minutes to eat. Alan won for the school the use of a Toyota Truck for a year and for himself a stereo system, 6 albums, and a t-shirt. Thanks, Alan! We're proud of you! 244 In all that I've done and all that I've learned. I've searched for a Me, for others to see. Upon looking up after three years gone by I found another page of my life had turned. The simple happenings of today Will be great memories tomorrow, And the fact that we can't do it again might bring us a bit of sorrow. Yet the simple fact that we've lived life once, Will let us think it a success And the years to come will prove to us this year has been better than all the rest. — Copied Acknowledgements The 1982 JACKET Staff wishes to extend a big Thank You to the following people for your help, support, and encouragement in producing the 1982 JACKET.
