lilllllll lil The Guidance Office assis- tants discuss ways of carry- ing out its objectives. Mrs. Warren instructs her students about the directions of a test. GUIDANCE Relatively new at Enka High is the Guid- ance Department, under the direction of Mrs. David Huff. Its main functions are counseling, aiding in the choice of suitable colleges and vocations for seniors after graduation and sup- ervising the National Merit and Preliminary Scholarships Aptitude testing programs for jun- iors and seniors. Currently the guidance room is equipped with approximately four hundred pamphlets, brochures, and catalogues concern- ing various academic and technical school of higher learning. Through the efforts of the Guidance Department, Enka students are at- taining their goal ofa happy, meaningful future Often parents and teachers discuss mutual plans and problems with their counselor. 28 ., Qixkxg ' -1,1153 ' 'ff . LIBRARY One of the most widely used depart- ments at Enka High School is the library. During each year over seventy-two thou- sand books are put into circulation. The library itself contains more than seven thousand books on subiects ranging over all areas of the curriculum .
