As impressive sitting as when standing, he is known for his dedicated leadership. A sound administrator, whose ability to weigh a situation with cool judgment before acting. lVlr. Waller won the confidence of his stall and the people of Enid. Mr. Waller's activity in the world of education in- cluded his own schooling at O.C.U. where he re- ceived his AB degree in chemistry. Waller came to Enid High where he taught math and chemistry and coached football, baseball, and track for four years. Chosen principal, he served in that capacity for ten years when he was elected superintendent. While at the post of superintendent, lVlr. Waller was president of the Oklahoma Association of School Administrators. president ol Oklahoma Association of Secondary Administrators, president of the northern district of Oklahoma Education Association and he served 25 years as secretary-treasurer of the High School Athletic Association. He also served as president of the Great Salt Plains area council of Boy Scouts of America, member of the state Board of Education. and was superintendent of the Methodist Church sunday school for nineteen years. He was on the Board of Directors of Boy Scouts of America, Camp Eire Girls, Salvation Army, YlVlCA, and the Speech and Hearing Institute. ln February of this year. the National Association ol Administrators presented lVlr. Waller in Atlantic City, New lersey, with a citation award for distin- FIRST OKLAHOIVIAN AND second man west ol the Mis- sissippi to receive this national citation. Mr. Waller was re- warded lor -18 years of service to the Enid school system by the National Association of School Administrators in February at their meeting in Atlantic City, New Iersey.
