BRAITHWAITE Cl-EO FISHER ci' TED COLDIRON CASEY COHLMIA ADIVII I TRATIO Responsibility for administering the Ifnid School system rested upon the Ifnid Board of Ifducation whose duties included hiring the su- perintendent, Nlr. Ilelvitt VValler, the principals, and all of the teaching personnel. Composed of seven citizens of Ifnid elected without pay for four year terms. three members and one at large heing elected every two years, the group rendered many hours of puhlic service in hehalf of the schools of Iiinid. Ileaded hy R. F. Ilayes, President, and Delma Schrock, Vice-president. other memhers were AI Rraithwaite, Ifdith Pinkerton, Cleo Fisher, Ted Coldiron, and Casey Cohlmia. Seven standing committees handled the differ- ent divisions of the school system. They were: Teacher Committee, Casey Cohlmia, Chairman, and Iidith Pinkerton and AI Iiraithwaite. mem- hers. Chairman of the Purchasing Committee was Delma Schrock with Cleo Fisher and Ted Coldiron, memhers. Al Braithwaite was Chair- man of the Building and Grounds Committee with Cleo Fisher and Edith Pinkerton. memhers. The Chairman of the Custodian Committee was Ted Coldiron with memhers Casey Cohlmia and Delma Schrock. Chairman of the Finance Com- mittee was Ifdith Pinkerton, and Al Iiraithwaite and Ted Coldiron were memhers. The Insurance Committee headed hy Cleo Fisher included Ca- sey Cohlmia and Delma Schrock. The Sites Committee Chairman was Cleo Ifisher and Ted Coldiron and Delma Schrock, memhers. The regular meeting was the Iirst Nlonday in every month, hut the hoard met several extra times during the month for special meetings. In the Summer of 1956 additions and im- provements were made to three elementary schools. Une of the higgest events during the year was the calling of the one million six hundred lifty thousand dollar hond election. This hond pro- vided for the huilding of a new -Iunior I Iigh and an extension on to Longfellow Iligh. The hoard let the contract for the remodeling of Longfellow and for the new Junior Iligh at Cleveland and Randolph Road. Students of Enid Iligh appreciated the excel- lent building and numerous modern facilities made available to them hy the citizens ol' Iflnid and administered through the Board of Ifduca- tion.
