The fourth quarter went scoreless despite a desperate attempt by the Plainsmen through a passing attack. The Redskins emerged win- ners by a score of I4 to 6. Thursday, October 24, found the Plains- men guests of the Ponca City Vlfildcats. The VVildcats were the Hrst to score after inter- cepting a pass and making a sustained drive. VVinfield, Holloway, and Craig, with the help of the strong Enid line, tied the score 7 to 7. Enid then scored its next touchdown on a pass from Craig to Holloway after two long passes from Wrnfield to Sophomore Dudley Tenney and another from VV1ndy to Leroy Holloway The Enid teams found themselves on Ponca City s 6 from where Winfield scored The game ended Zl to I3 Plamsmen The Plarnsmen made the Classen Comets see stars by dustrng them off I7 to 0 on Plamsmen Freld the following week On a second quarter drive Holloway set the Plarnsmen up for then first tally with a 47 yard run Then on a double handoff from Craig to Holloway to XV1nf'ield Wrndy went around rrght end to score standing up mak rng the score 6 to 0 The Comets were unable to plug up the gaping hole made by the de termrned Enid lrne of which Vance Grldea Tenney and Frazrer showed exceptionally good playing as they opened the way for W1nHeld to drive through center to score The Hnal score was l7 to 0 Enrd VVrth every man on the squad seeing action the Plamsmen made November 8 a black day for the Blackwell Maroons as they romped the Blackwell club 78 to 0 This game enabled all the boys to get some experience The score must have been a toast to Marv Ellen Dunton who at the half was crowned Football ueen of the Plamsmen by Farrell Craig Co Captain Playing host to the Topeka Trojans on November 15 the Plamsmen defeated them I9 to 7 The Kansans scored their only touchdown on a Trojan Horse play Alternat ing between Holloway and Craig the pig skrn was advanced to the Topeka I7 rn the first period From there Craig taking a hand off from Holloway flrpped a beautiful pass to Vlrndy who raced oyer for a score A second period drrve with Craig doing most of our ball carrying rolled up another score for old E H S XV1nfield again scored rn the fourth stanza with a passrng barrage to Drck Kutz unror Back Regrsterrng the highest score of their play mg thrs year the Plamsmen ran rings around the Perry grrdders at Perry by makrnv them bow to the score of 33 to 6 Winfield with 30 points to his credit played superb ball along with Craig and Holloway Otto Cowell Maroon Back saved hrs club from a com plete route by making the lone Perry tally The Maroons could not moye such Enid lrnesmen as Allen Sponsler Brarthwarte and W ebb as they held them back W Beck ham cross the T for three out of four conversions This was Lawsons last game T1115 Qurrr, lXI.sG,yz1N1 as coach of the Enid Plainsnren. VVally resigned to take up the insurance business with his father-in-law in Texas. The Plainsmen ate turkey on Thanksgiv- ing day by backwashing a stubborn Duncan team I9 to 0. It will be quite some time before the Enid fans will see another broken field run such as Floyd XVinfield made to score his second touchdown against the Demons. It is runs like this which go to prove him worthy of the title Most Valu- able Playeru which his teammates bestowed upon him. Ben Iayne also played brilliant ball as he took a 14 yard pass to set the Plainsmen up for their first score. Lloyd Holloway, Iunior Back. also showed great promise for next year. Dale Holt's Enid B's played three games winning one.
