President ' s Message Alan K. Marston As we the members of the class of 1964 reach our final goal, graduation, we should each pause for a moment and review our past accomplishments as well as our future desires. We entered English High School as anxious freshmen and sophomores from all parts of the city and all walks of life. In the years we have been here, we have learned to work together as a team, in the classrooms as well as on the playing field. Under the able direction of our dedicated headmaster, Dr. Joseph L. Malone, and our many fine teachers, we have gone onward and upward, finally reaching our destination — Graduation. During the many hours we have spent in this school, each one of us learned that it is only through our constant and never-ending efforts, that we could succeed at anything worthwhile. And now as we go forth into the world, no matter where we go, be it the world of business, higher education, or any other field of endeavor, we shall realize that perseverance is required. We shall therefore not complain when the time comes for each of us to bear our own individual burdens. It matters not in which direction we choose to turn, we shall sooner or later be confronted by awe-inspiring problems which we can overcome only if we respond to our chief instinct, success. This factor and only this factor will lead us on and help us obtain the most out of our lives. In closing we must remember above all else, the main aim of every English High School Graduate: To Become A Man of Honor and Achievement. Alan K. Marston President, Class of 1964
