Message to Members of the Graduating Class-. As Head Master of the English High School, may I extend the congratulations and best wishes of the members of the faculty, the alumni, and the entire student body to those who will graduate with the Class of 1960. Thousands of young men have been graduated from our school in years gone by and each who has been faithful to our trust in him has served the school loyally and well by maintaining a high standard of effort in the college of his choice, by performing his tasks in the business world effectively and well, or by other purposive effort in his chosen field of endeavor. The same intellectual competence and dedication to service which have charac- terized the English High School graduate in the past must continue to challenge his every effort in the future. The potential that rests with you individually and as a group is wonderful to contemplate. What remarkable new things will it build! What new uses for the old will it discover! Opportunity unlimited lies before you. Make certain that you make the most of it through a life of purpose and achievement. Many of you have qualities of leadership which will be readily demonstrated in the years that lie ahead. To that knowledge and ability which are the basis for competent leadership must be added the worthwhile purpose which will result in service to man- kind; for service to mankind is the basis for that Honor and Achievement which is the aim of every English High School graduate. May I wish for each of you the splendid success which will result if you will but strive to find in the goodness of a life well lived your own best development. May God bless you and guide you in all your efforts.
