JUNIOR YEAR Roses are red Violets are blue I think school . . . wonderful. How bout you? It seems as if you can always pick the juniors from the rest of the kids on that fatal day (pardon the expression) in September. Of course, no one has trouble spotting the new fellows. The juniors always seem to have a more somber expression than the seniors; the seniors having but eight more months till freedom, while the juniors still have to do a 17 months ' stretch. Now it was our turn to play pranks on the freshman, with most of the old gags about the swimming pool and elevators enjoying their usual success. The freshmen introduc- ed a new innovation into the school - the YO YO. After climbing to the third floor after lunch, and then dashing down to the drill hall, we felt that the YO YO had nothing on us. The third year was not merely a year of jokes and good times. Certified marks now counted towards college entrance, and the subjects were not gettin,g any easier, especially P3. Throughout the year we were constantly reminded of how hard it was to get into college - and sdll is. Weeks rolled by, and months. There were report cards, but there also were vacations. With the better part of the year still ahead, we held the election for dass officers. Mac- master was chosen president; Kennedy, vice-president; Kalogeros, secretary-treasurer, and Sokol and Henry Pransky, executive-committee. Just to reminisce: How can we forget PHIL SEMANS and TED EISENSTADT, towers of strength in our defeat of the Purple and White on Thanksgiving Day. There was the time when BOB RUBIN (the peroxide kid) switched wires on a motor in P3 with nearly catastrophic results. The E. H. S. band was led ver ' capably by ARTHUR SIMON. On May ist the seniors made a mass exodus, and the juniors were very disappointed to learn that there was no C. P. for them. It took a while to settle down to the regular system, and those empty seats vacated by the seniors did not help. We had one consola- tion; we were the Big Shots. And when the halls of the Montgomery Manor were vacated for the last time in June, long after they were deserted, the echo, WE ARE SENIORS , could be heard.

expedition. I wish to point out that not all of the first two weeks was spent in searching for our lockers. That would be foolish. On the contary at least six days were spent fil- ling out book slips, program cards, A. W. cards, carcheck slips, loyalty checks, cut slips, etc. Did you ever try to write RICHARD E. KORDASZEWSKI in a one-half inch space. ' ' The sophomores must be a hardy bunch. Why, there were hardly any screams when the room captains twisted our arms and asked us to buy athletic pins. It has even been rumored, and this is just a rumor, that se eral of the boys offered to buy two or three, - WOW! At this point let me mention the cafeteria food. Not more than 30 7 of the students use acute indigestion as an excuse to get a sick pass in the sixth period. For the bene- fit of those boys that are not sure, it has been proved that the noises in the lunchroom around Christmas time are music and not sounds from the refrigerator motor. There is a mathematical equation connected with the lunchroom that we wish to pass on. It states: the confusion in the cafeteria is directly proportional to the square of the distance from the lunch counter. Remember, You heard it here first. What, it ' s time to go home! Hey Bill, hold that street car door open for me! JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS Seated (left to right) President D mgl.i.s J. MacMastcr, X ' lce-President Johii F. Kennedy. Standing (left to right) Secretary-Treasurer Robert Kalogcros, Ex- ecutive Committee Members David Sok ' il and Henr Pransky.

SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Seated (left to riyht) ' icc-Piesidcnt Robert Di Orejiorio, President William H. Ohrenberger, Jr. Standing (left to right) Executive Committee Members Robert R. Mahn and David L. Sokol, and Secretary-Treasurer Robert L. Feeney SENIOR YEAR They refer to blue Monday, but alas and alack They never mention Thursday — the day we go back. At last our senior year. Now as we approach Montgonnery Manor with graying hair and faltering steps, we thank our lucky stars that our homerooms are on the first floor. Those elevators might not work this year. But since there are a few senior rooms on the second floor, we, trampling several sophomores and freshmen under heel, race into school in Older to find the location of our base of operations. This was the first and last day we were ever seen racing into school. It was usually vice-versa. One disappointment of the early season was caused by the fact that no longer could we hear that gallant horseman of Room 231 rallying to the roundup once more. Yes, Mr. Council had finally retired. Ah yes, it was a happy day as we renewed our acquaintances with old friends. After a few days of red tape, school finally began in full earnest. How do I know school began. '
