As pioneers in modern stratospheric transportation, Coach Cuddy and Coach Ballantine, who ' ve won their fame with ease; And with them there ' s Burt Levenson, new owner of the Bees. Now, midst the cheers and fanfares and all but ten-gun-salute. There enter General Klercker and the gorgeous General Shutc. And, by the way, this party ' s being held in Hotel Lent. The rooms and food are swell at Lent Hotel. (Advertisement) Lo and Behold and Stuff, we ' re blessed with presence here tonight Of Gov ' nors Burns and Feinzig, staunch upholders of the Right. Now over there Dan Lasovick and Doc Aversa dote On Dapper ' s newest formula for double root beer float: While Mushl Gordon muscles in to tell them of his art: He ' d outdone all drugstores in town by stocking auto parts. And there ' s Jim Conway, Hnyah hnyah. Tonight, from Hollywood have come (in private planes, woo woo) The dashing Acquaviva and the dashing Dowling too. We sec now famous Doctors Ambuter and Abelson Each claiming loudly no attachment to the other one. Discussing stocks and bonds and golf, behind those diamond tie-pins, Are Cro sby, Keefe, Bud Kells, and Friedman, Laible, Varner, Griffin. Now Doctors Edelstone, Slobodkin, Dr. Gardner too, Let go with, In a case like that, this is just what Ld do: And there is Charlie Grover, who can tell you of the day He broke all swimming records in his own cute little way. Of course the press is represented at this merry fete In persons of Ray Garran and our , Mr. Blake. And here they come, the pride of English — Science on parade — A bigger bunch of Einsteins than ever we ' ve surveyed: Dick Gillooly, Georgey Powers, Phil Vaccaro, and some more. Dr. Rizza, John J. Hickson, John J. Hickson — dozens more. And Nobel Prize Bill Jacobs ' s here (he ' s over by the punch). Best Sellers keep him busy — but he still saves time for lunch. And over on the rostrum, we see our prex. Fred Linn With Powers and McNulty; now they ' re ready to begin. (We ' re sorry about Gerry Powers and Fred Crowley — But the meter just wouldn ' t allow them in where they belong.) And there are many others in this glad group here tonight — Too many here — too numerous for us to singly sight. But they are known to English High — the Class of Thirty Eight: Each one of them is famous here — each one of them a great But now we leave the Hotel Lent to turn this story in: The City Desk is waiting to let the press begin. We leave, but we cannot forget, till Gabriel draws nigh. This meeting of the world ' s real men, the Sons of English High. BOSTON, 1948 (Associated Press) This generation ' s Men of Might have called for a recess. From every corner of the earth, from every sort of scene. The Sons of EngHsh homeward plow — in Cords and Limousines. Occasion: Tenth Reunion of the Class of Thirty Eight — And even now, the Men of Might begin to congregate. We see Dean H. Zeke Taylor here (white tie, slide-rule, and tails) And hear that still his little billets doux burn up the mails. Now here are famous commentators Hegarty and Epstein, Who know the Sport World inside out, back, forward, down, and upstein. And over there there ' s Blair and Calarese and Constantine And Corcoran and Wilshire (Chemist ' s Local 29). They ' re gathered ' round Professor DiPrancesco, who ' s expounding The mysteries of ferrocyanides and all surrounding. And here are Doctors Fishman, Morss, and Kells, who ' ve dropped their drills And picks and saws to be tonight with all the boys and gills. (Oh, yes, most of us have brought our wives j And there are super-salesmen Nyberg, Robinson, Frank Taylor. They ' re covered now with fame and dough, which they have made a whale a ' . And over there we see, about to give the gong a kick, His Jamminess, the Kink of Swink, the glamorous Bobrick. And, kids, this session ' s being broadcast throughout all the land Through Burgoyne ' s Station B-U-R-G. Gee, ain ' t Science swell! And here we see our learned friends, DeLuca, Crowley, Kane, Who ' ve won themselves, as lawyers bright, a wide and mighty fame. (Kane-fame-famc-Kane. ' ' ! ? oh well, none of us is perfect!) Now there ' s our Brother Eng, who ' s just designed a submarine That ' s made of lemon Jello and will go on just whipped cream. Now over here, with black cigars, the country ' s Big Biz men — There ' s Gesmer, Woll, and Willy Brown, and Johnny Rattigan. And not without their share of fame when it comes to black cigars Are Robinson, Abdelahad, Red Curry, Eddie Carr. And look behind those uniforms that hold the femmes agog — There ' s General D ' Ambrosio, the mitey Captain Fogg. Now here are two whose works are known from here to Bonnie Banks . They ' re artists of the highest stuff (and, kids, I do mean rank). One is the one and only Wong, the other, M. J. Horner (Though not the lad from Mother Goose, he loves to lurk in corners) And there ' s Bob Masterson, the card; he ' s trying out a joke. But, as in Record days, the answer ' s known before it ' s spoke. Right here we ' ve Coach Maloney (the world has heard his name) His boys bring home the orchids from every single game. And Phil Speigel ' s here foo. And Leon, Giannino, with us here, of course, tonight. Are trying still, in their own cute way, to set the public right. Right there are Brothers Kec and Sulkin, known in every nation

And will accept What ' s herein kept As made by one, the chosen, Of absent mind. And of the kind Whose brain might well be frozen. Composed below in merriment. Is our last will and testament. To The Juniors Now we leave a space For you to replace With men of spirit true: Uphold the tradition With noble ambition, And win for the Blue and Blue! To The Sophomores Wc leave you advice We think will suffice: How time flics you have no idea! So work like the deuce. That you can vamoose When you get up here where we are! To The Freshmen To the little ones dear. Who come up in the rear, We know of nothing horrider — We leave to you This rule — woo! woo! No whistling in the corridor! Prcs Linn leaves now, a job well done. While Cuddles McNulty, tho ' all in fun, Leaves with Class Dues for the Canada border. H. Blair leaves his girl ffx nd — he couldn ' t afford ' er. If Newpol, Latkowitch, and Shaiken Leave with a tear, don ' t be mistaken. For they ' re quite happy about the whole thing Pandolpho leaves, still uttering His own (?) expression: Well, whatdyasay i ' Bill Jacobs leaves a bright array Of characters, from Miguel To poor Moe White in his dark cell. Eight-thirty Squad Yellin bequeaths at last His very own essay on How to Run Fast! Bob Masterson leaves — our man of wit. And Nangeroni, too, leaves writ An essay distinct with certain aromas: Why Doesn ' t Martini, now, Understand QomusV Ralph Buck leaves with the old trombone Of which SecEc so loved the tone. O joy! O rapture! for Mr. Hill Who would the cup of Knowledge spill O ' er Babin, — for the latter leaves. Alas! Alack! Poor Greenberg heaves A sigh and leaves Ph., appealing, When was this Era of Good Feeling? As Harry Shulman, comes to sight, He leaves the mem ' ry of his height — Or rather of his lack of it! Feroli leaves, to do his bit, Some slightly used tardy slips. So Eddie Naylor come and tips Me off that he is merely leaving. Ray Garran leaves, tho never grieving. Up and ready, big and tough, Ambuter in a voice so gruff Leaves orders to be mentioned here. Collected all throughout the year, Lazzari leaves his undone Math To whom it may concern. The wrath Of hot debate lulls now as Pro And Con Parkman leaves with Giannino. Mike Wilk wakes up just long enough To leave. The work is done. We ' ve had our fun, So there! Ye Official Sfiyster.
