LIVERMORE Miss Livermore was a member of the faculty of Englewood high school for nine years, from 1926 to 1935. She was born in Chicago in 1870. She graduated from the old Dearborn seminary for girls with honors, and next entered the University of Chicago, where she majored in art. After college Miss Livermore opened an art studio, and was commissioned to do stained glass windows for several Chicaqo churches. In 1898 she began her career as a teacher in the public schools and spent the remaining thirty-seven years of her life in this field. She taught art and English at Medill, Wendell Phillips, Crane, and Englewood. In each she made friendships with both the faculty and student body which lasted through the years. She was a member of the Chicago Women's Club, the Chicago Geographical Society, and the Central Eleanor Club. After a short period of illness, Miss Livermore passed away at the home of a friend on December 17, 1935. Services were held at the Hyde Park Baptist church. As a final gesture of farewell, music was supplied by the boys' choir of Englewood. Page Fourleen
