Having ended the season with a 5-4-1 record, they brought praise and respect from other coaches and sports writers alike. After tying their first game, they lost the Homecom- ing game by one point and then hit a four game winning streak, the first of which was the upset vic- tory over undefeated Terry Parker. The last game was a disappointing loss to DuPont. The excellent work of the coaches won them the title, Coaches of the Year.
